Community Service from Sunway University students

Starting on 14 February 2023, the psychology students from Sunway University visited the care centre to provide community service for four weeks (four hours per week). The purpose of the visit was to ameliorate the elderly’s well-being and encourage them to be more physically active. They accompanied the elderly to play mahjong, sing with the elderly and have casual chats with them to understand their thoughts better. The students also helped the staff to clean the grass, serve food to the elderly and fold the clothes. They also brought some food (biscuits, chocolates and oranges) to cheer the elderly up. After visiting the care centre, the students helped to create an official website to introduce and promote the care centre. The elderly expressed their happiness and appreciation to the students for their companionship.
